China has pledged her continuous support for Ghana in the areas of economic, social, technical and Health. She is therefore sending a medical team consisting of nine senior experienced doctors to Ghana when accommodation by the Ministry of Health is ready. China has already dispatched three senior experts to contribute to the development of agriculture in Ghana.
Briefing newsmen in Accra, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Yu Wenzhe, said inspite of the economic crisis, bilateral trade between the two countries will continue to grow. The news conference is part of activities marking the 60th anniversary of China. He said since China established diplomatic relations with Ghana in 1972 she has made available loans, general goods and training of human resource among others.
Mr. Wenzhe mentioned some of the developmental projects undertaken by China as the establishment of the office complex of the Ministry of Defence, Bui Hydropower project, and a youth centre in Kumasi. He warned Chinese residents in Ghana not to do anything that go contrary to the laws of the nation. He was not happy about some Chinese engaging in human trafficking and Galamsey and said the Chinese government will collaborate with the law enforcement agencies to deal with such people.
