Ghana kept their faint hopes of advancing to the knock-out round of the U20 World Cup after thumping USA 4-1 in Kayseri on Thursday night.

But the 2009 world champions must wait until the end of the final batch of Groupmatches to determine if they can finish as one of the best three third-place teams.
Liberty Professionals striker Ebenezer Assifuah struck a double in the second half after Frank Acheampong had opened the scoring on 38 minutes.
The Anderlecht player profited from a scramble inside the box to fire past goalkeeper Cooper.
Assifuah then doubled the lead in the 58th minute when he cut in from the left and bent a powerful one behind Cooper.
But USA responded 11 minutes later when ONeill reduced the deficit but Assifuah headed in a corner-kick from Acheampong in the 78th minute to restore Ghana’s two-goal lead.
Ghana kept on piling on the pressure and grabbed the fourth through substitute Kennedy Ashia who rifled in a shot from the box.
The Black Satellites are now on course to progress but that will be after all matches have been placed.
