Jordan Ayew, son of football legend Abedi Pele, says he might be forced to choose France if there is no response from the Ghana Football Association by the close of the year.

The 16-year-old has been impressive at Olympique Marseille’s reserve side and pushing for promotion into the senior team.

The talented midfielder turned down an invitation to join the France junior team last year since he holds a French passport.

Ayew told that he had consulted his parents, agent and brothers and “I’m waiting the right time will come”.

“Ghana haven’t called me but the French national team have called me but I didn’t go to their call-up so I’m waiting to see.”

“I will like to play for Ghana and not France because I have stayed (here) since I was young and I don’t think I’m a French boy even though I have the nationality.

“I will wait for this year if Ghana doesn’t do any call-up then I think I will go and play for France because I think I have to play internationally.”

Jordan’s senior brother Dede was also courted by France but opted to play for Ghana under Claude LeRoy’s reign as head coach last year.
