On Saturday, March 4th, The Ghanaian community kicked off the Ghana@60 Anniversary with a gospel concert, organized and coordinated by the youth wing of the GCAO (Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario).
The event was held at The Living Word Assembly of God church, and was attended by a youths and adults in the Ghanaian community from various churches.
The program opened with remarks by the Master of Ceremonies Mr Eric Nyarko and prayers by Pastor Isaac De-Graft Takyi from the Living word Assembly Church.
The outgoing president of the GCAO, Mr Wofa Yaw Nyarko gave the welcoming address and national anthem performed by Minister Amanda Tetteh.
A brief keynote speech by the Ghana Consulate General of Toronto, Hon. John Bosco and also a brief message from Honorable Kirsty Duncan (Federal Minister for science and technology)
Some of the performances included: Living Word Youth choir, Bella T, Drew Anderson, higher faith group, Rocky Prempeh, Daisy Agyeman, Kwabena Dwomoh, Felix Baffour, Elvis Yeboah
Vote of thanks delivered by one of the organizers, Miss Priscilla Hinnewaah and closinig prayer by Mr Eric Nyarko.
The Ghan@60 anniversary continues with a flag raising ceremony on March 6th at city hall, downtown Toronto.
