On March 12th 2020, under the leadership of the Ghana Consulate Office in Toronto, Ghanaians in Toronto came together to commemorate Ghana Independence Anniversary with a flag raising ceremony held at the Ontario Legislation Assembly.
In attendance were leaders of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario, Chiefs and Queen-mothers, politicians, various community leaders and well wishers of Ghana.
The MC for the ceremony was Mr Alexandria Acquaah from the Consulate’s office. Event began with opening prayers from Father Korsah, and followed with opening remarks from the speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Mr Ted Arnot.
The Ghana Consulate General of Toronto, Mr Thomas Seshie gave his keynote remarks with emphasis on Ghana and Canada economic trades. He was also presented with a certificate from the speaker in recognition of this celebration.
