As summer has finally set in so have we at Power to Girls Foundation.
With the help of The Toronto Community Housing, I Love My Hair, The White Ribbon
Campaign, Femme International, we are to host a 2 day Workshops Series on
Exploring Self Esteem among young girls titled Roots Of A Girl.
A 2 part workshop on Self Esteem and the African Canadian Girl.
DAY 1- July 19th 2014 11:00am to 4:00pm
We will be exploring Body Image and the Media, Mental Health, Personal Hygiene
On DAY 2 – August 2nd 2014 from 11:00am to 4:00pm
Its all About the Hair; We will discuss the natural hair movement; how it
affects young girls and their self esteem, The days will be filled with Panel
Discussions, Wisdom Circles, DIY’S Hair Care/Salon among many others.

be provided.In addition to that Power To Girls has partnered with the Ghanaian Multicultural
Community Centre To host the 5th annual Summer Awakening Project for kids
between the ages of 5 to 13. Monday to Friday From 9:00am to 4:00pm. This will
include educational activities and trips. Weekly activities, hands on exercises,

2014 to August 22nd 2014.
Starting July 10th 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm PTGF in partnership with RISE
POETRY will be hosting a 8 week self expression program for girls between the
ages of 14 to 19. Girls will learn the art of spoken word, creative writing and
story telling and how to turn their thoughts and emotions into art. Registration
